Group Meeting: The children and I looked at the calendar to see what school events would be coming up for us in April. Some of the children knew it was April Fool's day. I was even fooled by a student who told me that she brought brownies to school. When I opened the package, I found brown E's. Very funny!
Story: I read a non-fiction book today. Music is a book that tells about different kinds of music and how it is made. The pictures in this book were from all over the world. It told of different ways we can make music and different reasons for playing music.
Small Group: The children used rhythm sticks to follow the beat of our favorite children's songs. They found that when they sang faster that they needed to make the beats a little faster, too.
Large Group: The children used the percussion instruments that we have to create a marching band. I played marching music on the CD player and the children followed the drum major.
Snacks: The morning class had blueberry muffins and juice brought by Dawson. The afternoon class had cheese popcorn and juice brought by Wyatt.
